Man Wanted In NI Arrested In Dublin

A 60-year-old man wanted in Northern Ireland for being unlawfully at large from prison has been arrested in Dublin.

An Garda Siochana arrested the man on an extradition warrant from the PSNI, who sought the man in connection with a murder conviction from 1990.

The man has appeared before the Extradition Court and has been remanded to prison pending the extradition proceedings.

Welcoming the arrested, Sergeant Davey from PSNI's International Policing Unit said: "We continue to work with closely with An Garda Siochana to locate and arrest persons sought for extradition. We appreciate the continued assistance of An Garda Siochana is tracking down those who abscond from the justice system here in Northern Ireland."

Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Attempted Murder
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder over an attack in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. A man, aged in his 50s, is in a critical condition in hospital after he was assaulted at a house on the Ballycastle Road on Monday, 26 September. Two other men were also arrested and have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Man Arrested Following Incident At House In Coleraine
A 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an incident at a house in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. It happened at a property on Knockantern Grove in the Mountsandel area on Tuesday, 16 August. The suspect has been arrested on suspicion of possessing of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an offence and assault on police.

Man Released On Bail Over Lurgan Murder
A man arrested in connection with a murder in Lurgan on Sunday, 06 August, has been released on bail pending further enquiries. The body of a man, aged 45, was discovered at a flat on Victoria Street. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Couple Freed After Missing Children Located
Four children who have been missing from their home in Ardee since Thursday have been found. The children, ranging in age from one to 12, are safe and well while a 30-year-old man and a woman who were initially arrested have since been released without charge.

Prisoner Dies At Maghaberry
A prisoner has died in custody at Maghaberry jail. The Northern Ireland Prison Service (NIPS) said the 57-year-old man passed away on Thursday morning, 28 September. His next of kin have been informed and an investigation has been launched.
