Traffic And Travel Advice Ahead Of Apprentice Boys Of Derry Parade
The PSNI have issued traffic and travel advice ahead of a planned Apprentice Boys of Derry (AboD) parade taking place in the L'Derry on Saturday, 10 August.
In addition to some smaller parades from around 9am in the morning in the city, there will also be parades in Castlederg, Newtownstewart, Donemana, and Plumbridge prior to the main parade in the city, which takes place at 12.30pm.
Diversions will be in place from approximately 11am on Saturday; diversionary signage will be in place. The top deck of Craigavon Bridge will be closed from this time as it is part of the main parade route.
Police urge drivers to adhere to the diversions.
Vehicles travelling from the Limavady direction, towards Strabane, will be diverted at Caw Roundabout via Crescent Link towards Newbuildings. Traffic bound for the Cityside should use the Foyle Bridge. Vehicles travelling from Strabane, towards Limavady, will be diverted at Newbuildings towards Altnagelvin. Motorists can also travel via Lifford into the city via Letterkenny Road.
• 9-9.30am: The ABoD General Committee and eight ABoD Parent Clubs, accompanied by nine bands, will assemble in the city, in the Society Street/ Memorial Hall area from 9am. At 9.30am they will parade around the City Walls anti-clockwise, then on to the War Memorial in The Diamond for a wreath-laying ceremony via Society Street, Bishop Street, and the Diamond. Following this ceremony, they will parade to St Columb's Cathedral for a church service via Ferryquay Street, Pump Street and into St Columb's Cathedral. The service will last approximately one hour.
• From 11.15am, one band will parade from Fountain Estate via Wapping Lane, Carlisle Square, Carlisle Road, Ferryquay Street, the Diamond, Bishop Street, London Street to Artillery Street. There they will await the main parade.
• At 11.45am, the ABoD General Committee, led by one band, will parade from St Columb’s Cathedral to Carlisle Road Roundabout for a pageant via London Street and Hawkin Street.
Main Parade Route:
The main parade commences at Duke Street at 12:30pm and proceeds via Craigavon Bridge, Carlisle Road, Ferryquay Street, the Diamond, Bishop Street, London Street, Hawkin Street, Kennedy Street, Wapping Lane, Craigavon Bridge, Spencer Road, Dungiven Road, Dennet Gardens, Sheskin Gardens, Bann Drive, Finn Gardens, Mourne Drive, Dennet Gardens, Dungiven Road, Glendermott Road, Bonds Street to May Street for dispersal.
5pm Return Parade:
General Committee & eight Parent Clubs will parade back to cityside from May Street via Bonds Street, Clooney Terrace, Spencer Road, Craigavon Bridge, Carlisle Road, Ferryquay Street, the Diamond, Bishop Street, and Palace Street to Society Street. On dispersal at the Memorial Hall, one band will parade Society Street, London Street, Hawkin Street, Kennedy Street and the Fountain Estate.
Road closures will remain in place until the main parade and associated feeder parades are complete. Motorists should allow extra time for their journeys and should take extra care on the diversionary routes.
Police will be deployed and on duty to assist with any traffic issues that arise.

PSNI Appeal For Information After Ormeau Road Crash
Police have appealed for information about a road traffic collision that occurred yesterday in the Ormeau Avenue area of South Belfast. On Wednesday 24 July at approximately 2.25 pm, the PSNI received a report of a road traffic collision involving a red Citroën C1 and a male pedestrian.

Work Starts On Road Improvement Projects In Co Armagh
Contractors have started work on £170,000 road improvement projects in Tandragee, Co Armagh. The schemes are taking place at Irish Street Richhill and Gilford Street. They involve the resurfacing of 1km of roads and where appropriate the reinstatement of footways and verges. To facilitate the schemes, temporary road closures will be in place.
