Renewed Appeal For Information On South Belfast Hate Crime
Police have issued a renewed appeal for information on a reported assault in the Ormeau Road area of south Belfast on Friday, 19 July.
It was reported shortly after 10.40pm that a man, aged in his 30s, had been punched by two other men, close to the junction with Delhi Street.
Although the man did not appear to be seriously injured at the time, it was later established that he had suffered head injuries which required hospital treatment.
The men, who remained at the scene, reported to officers that they had been the victims of racist abuse and had been spat at. This element of the investigation is being treated as a hate crime.
Enquiries are ongoing and we would encourage anyone who may have witnessed the assault, or the events leading up to it, to contact Police on 101 quoting reference 1925 19/07/24.

Fermanagh Man Jailed For Indecent Assault Of A Child
A 60-year-old Fermanagh man has been sentenced at Dungannon Crown Court for seven counts of indecent assault against a child. Ronan Farrell was sentenced to four years and six months in prison. He will be placed on the Sex Offenders Register for an indefinite period and has been disqualified from ever working with children.
