Portadown Suspicious Object Declared A Hoax

A suspicious object at the centre of a Portadown security alert has been declared a hoax.

Shortly after 8.45pm on Tuesday, 30 July, police received a report of a suspicious object in the Upper Church Lane area.

Emergency service responded and sealed the area, evacuating local residents and closing a number of roads.

Ammunition Technical Officers were called to the scene and examined the object. It was declared a hoax and removed for further examination.

The PSNI thanked local residents and the public for the patience and co-operation during the incident.

Anyone with any information about the incident, or anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious, is asked to contact police.

A suspicious object found in Co Antrim has been declared a hoax. The discovery was made in the Cushendall Road area in Ballymena on Tuesday, 18 July. Police and Army bomb disposal experts attended the scene and the object caws declared a hoax. The area was sealed off, however it has since been reopened.

Police have said a security alert in Maghera, Co L'Derry, has ended. They have declared the alert a hoax. A suspicious object was discovered in the Sunnyside Drive area of the town on Friday. Police and army bomb experts attended the scene. The object was later declared a hoax.

Suspicious Object In East Belfast Declared A Hoax
A security alert in east Belfast on Wednesday, 18 September, has been declared a hoax. The alert began shortly after 1.15pm when police received a report of a suspicious object in the Church Road area. The PSNI immediately launched a public safety operation, closing Church Road between Manse Road and the Ballygowan Road.

North Belfast Suspicious Object Declared A Hoax
A number of homes in north Belfast were evacuated on Tuesday night following the discovery of a suspicious object. Residents in the Glendore Avenue area were asked to leave their homes last night following the discovery of the device on a footpath.
