18-Year-Old Charged With Assault Of Police Officer In Ardboe

An 18-year-old male has been charged in connection with an assault on an officer in Ardboe.

A police officer was injured after his arm was pinned between a vehicle and police car in the Kilmascally Road area Ardboe outside Dungannon on Saturday night, 27th July. The officer attended hospital for assessment to an arm and hand injury.

The teenager will face 10 charges including dangerous driving, assault on police, two counts of failure to report an accident when injury and damage occurred, two counts of failure to stop, two of failure to remain, driving without insurance and obstructing an officer.

He will appear before Dungannon Magistrates' Court on 23rd August. As is procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

Man Charged With Attempted Murder Of Police Officer
A man has been charged after allegedly attempting to murder a PSNI officer in Lurgan. Police said they charged the 41-year-old man with attempted murder, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon. He is due to appear at Lisburn Magistrate Court on Monday February 6.
