PSNI Appeal For Information After Ormeau Road Crash
Police have appealed for information about a road traffic collision that occurred yesterday in the Ormeau Avenue area of South Belfast.
On Wednesday 24 July at approximately 2.25 pm, the PSNI received a report of a road traffic collision involving a red Citroën C1 and a male pedestrian.
The man, in his 40s, was hospitalised with serious head injuries. Ormeau Avenue, which was closed for a period of time, has fully re-opened to traffic.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police on 101 and quote reference 993 of 24/07/24.

Detectives have appealed for information for information following a report of a burglary and hit-and-run road traffic collision in Newry on Sunday morning, 23 June. Police received a report that a white BMW X5 was stolen outside a house in the Dublin Road area of Cloghoge.

Over 800 young people from schools in Lisburn and Castlereagh attended a hard-hitting road safety message at the PSNI Road Safe Roadshow on 19 November. The roadshow, supported by AXA Insurance and the Northern Ireland Road Safety Partnership, aims to educate young drivers about the dangers of irresponsible driving.

Fall in NI road traffic accidents
Road traffic accidents in Northern Ireland have fallen by 8% during 2002-2003 compared to the previous year, the latest figures have revealed. The figure, which was contained in the Northern Ireland Transport Statistics, showed that accidents fell from 7,140 to 6,598 and the number of road casualties also fell by 8% from 12,603 to 11,546.
