Man Arrested In Suspicious Vehicle Stop In Hillsborough
A 44-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of a number of offences after attempting to flee from officers during a vehicle stop in Hillsborough in the early hours of Tuesday 23rd July.
At around 12.45am, officers on a proactive patrol in the town became suspicious of a vehicle stopped in the McKee's Dam area. When officers approached the vehicle and asked the driver to get out of the vehicle and speak to them, he initially made off from the scene.
However, he stopped again nearby and a subsequent search of his vehicle uncovered a quantity of suspected Class A Controlled drugs, an amount of cash, tobacco products and a number of high-value electronic items.
The man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class A controlled drugs, handling stolen goods and possession of criminal property. He was taken to custody, where he remains at this time.
A further search was carried out at his home address in Lisburn, and another amount of cash seized.
Inspector Carson said: "Our officers work hard every day to keep people safe.

Two Schoolgirls Knocked Down In Armagh Hit And Run
Two County Armagh teenagers were knocked down in a hit and run incident on their way to school on Thursday morning, 06 December. They were reportedly struck by a vehicle on the Loughgall Road in Portadown at around 8am. One girl suffered injuries and was treated by both the PSNI and paramedics at the scene.

Ramraider shot by police in Newry
