Cost of Belfast to Dublin train ticket increases
The cost of a day return ticket on the main Belfast to Dublin Enterprise service is to increase by £4, it has been announced.
The price hike, which will see customers now pay £25 for a ticket, is the second in the past year.
Consumer Council chief executive Eleanor Gill described the increase as "poor value for money" blaming time keeping problems with the service for her reaction.
The Council also expressed concern at the price increase ahead of a period of engineering work around Dublin which will disrupt the Enterprise service until May 2005.
However, Mal McGreevy, general manager of rail services with Translink, the rail firm which co-owns Enterprise, said the increase was necessary given his company had to run "a commercial business and make ends meet".
Today's announcement will also see the price of a monthly return ticket rise from £31 to £33.

Titanic Lockdown Cancelled
Belfast festival Titanic Lockdown has been cancelled due to poor ticket sales. The festival was set to be headlined by the Happy Mondays and New Order, with Ghostpoet, Factory Flooe, Anna Calvi and Lee Scratch Perry also set to perform on the 1 and 2 June.

Jetstream Express drop Belfast flights
Jetstream Express has ceased operating flights between Blackpool and Belfast. Flights on routes between Aberdeen and Southampton have also been axed. In a statement Jetstream Express said: "We regret this action and the inconvenience it may cause but these routes have not proved viable.

Warning Issued Amid Increase In Reports Of Ticket Fraud
The PSNI have warned people trying to buy tickets for popular and sold-out events to be on their guard against fraudulent sellers. The appeal for vigilance follows continuing reports of ticket fraud from people across Northern Ireland, with individual losses amounting to hundreds of pounds.

Translink Announces Bus And Rail Fare Increases
Translink NI has announced fare increases on bus and rail services from Monday 03 June. The public transport provider has announced an increase its average fares by 6% for bus and 10% for rail. According to reports, Metro ticket prices will increase by an average of 10p, with Ulsterbus and Goldliner tickets potentially increasing by as much as 50p.
