24-Year-Old Arrested Following 'Creeper-Style' Burglaries

A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with two 'creeper-style' burglaries in Bangor and Ballyclare.

On Sunday, 24 June, it was reported to police that a man had been seen on a video doorbell gaining entry into a property on the Killaire Road at 9.40pm. The man is said to have taken the keys to a red Suzuki Swift and made off in the vehicle.

The car was later seen in the north Belfast area.

A second report was made at approximately 5.50am on the morning of Tuesday 25th June, of a man trying to gain access to a shed at a property in the Cartall Road area of Ballyclare.

Officers attended and located the man and the stolen car. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of burglary, theft of a vehicle, attempted burglary, attempted criminal damage, theft, no driving licence and no insurance.

He remains in police custody at this time.

Police have appealed to anyone with CCTV or other footage that could assist with enquiries to contact them on 101 quoting reference 1450 of 24/06/24

Renewed Appeal On 22nd Anniversary Of Stephen Warnock Murder
Detectives from Legacy Investigation Branch, reviewing the murder of 35-year-old Stephen Warnock, in Newtownards in 2002, are appealing for information on the 22nd anniversary of his murder. Stephen died after being shot a number of times in his car while driving on the Circular Road in Newtownards at approximately 11.30 am on 13th September 2002.

Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Attempted Murder
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder over an attack in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. A man, aged in his 50s, is in a critical condition in hospital after he was assaulted at a house on the Ballycastle Road on Monday, 26 September. Two other men were also arrested and have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
