Appeal Issued Following Burglaries In Newry
Police have appealed for information and witnesses following a number of recent burglaries in the Newry area.
The PSNI received three reports on Monday 17 June, one of a burglary in the Armagh Road area at approximately 5.55am of a burglary in the Armagh Road area. The homeowner was woken by their dog barking and found the back door open and a quantity of cash and car keys missing.
A second report of an attempted burglary in the same area was received at approximately 6.10am when a man, believed to be aged in his 20s, smashed the patio window of a house with a screwdriver. The man who was wearing a baseball cap, made off from the scene on a bicycle.
A third report was then received before 7am that a man had gained entry to a house in the Daisy Hill Gardens area. The man who is also believed to be aged in his 20s then made off on a bicycle in the direction of Newry City Centre with a sum of cash and a set of car keys. He is described as wearing a black coat, black hat, black tracksuit bottoms and black and white trainers.
On Thursday 20 June a report was received before 7.45am of a creeper style burglary in the Larchmont area. The homeowner found the front door of the house ajar. Car keys and a car were reported stolen - and there was also a discarded bicycle at the front of the property.
Sergeant Mackin said:
"Police are investigating a possible link between the four reports and are appealing to anyone who noticed anyone suspicious in the area or to anyone with CCTV or other footage that could assist with enquiries to contact police on 101 quoting reference 263 20/06/24."

Appeal Following Multiple Burglaries In Newry, Mourne and Down Area
PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following reports of burglaries in the Newry, Mourne and Down area. On Friday, 31st May, police received a report that a burglary had taken place in the Ashfield Avenue area of Newry at some point between 9.00am and 12.50pm, when the resident was not present.
