Arrest Made Over Banbridge Shooting

Detectives investigating a shooting in the Rathfriland Road area of Banbridge in April have made an arrest.

On Wednesday 19 June, officers conducted a search at residential premises in the Dromara area of County Down as part of an ongoing investigation after a man in his 40's was shot in the abdomen by a masked man in a car park at around 8pm on Friday 12 April.

Detective Inspector Handley said: "Following the search, a man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. He was subsequently released on police bail pending further enquiries. A subsequent search was conducted by officers at a property in the Hillsborough area on Wednesday 19th June. A number of items were seized during the incident.

"To date, we have made four arrests as part of this ongoing investigation. Three men aged 46, 39 and 34 years old who were previously arrested remain on police bail as enquiries continuing. We continue to appeal for information in relation to this investigation and we would be keen to hear from anyone who may be able to assist, to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference number 1683 12/04/24. We would especially like to hear from anyone who may have any CCTV, dash-cam or mobile footage of what happened. This information could greatly help with our enquiries."

Malcolm McKeown: Police Make One Arrest
Detectives probing the fatal shooting of Malcolm McKeown outside a Co Down petrol station have arrested a man in his twenties. Mr McKeown, aged 54, was found dead in his car outside Dewart's Garage in Waringstown on Monday 19 August. He had been shot six times. The suspect, aged 26, has been taken to Musgrave Station for questioning.

Further Arrest Over Antrim ATM Raid
Detectives probing the theft of a double ATM unit from a supermarket in Antrim have arrested a man. The 28 year-old is detained on suspicion of conspiracy to steal and possession of class B controlled drugs. The ATM was stolen from a Tesco store in the early hours of Friday morning, 06 December. A digger was used to prise the unit from the wall.

Man Charged Over Robbery At Fast-Food Outlet In Newtownards
A man is to appear in court after being charged in connection with a robbery at a fast-food outlet in Newtownards, Co Down. Police charged the man, aged 28, with two counts of robbery, one count of attempted robbery and three counts of possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.

Banbridge Shooting: Police Appeal For 'White Van Man' To Come Forward
Detectives investigation a shooting incident in Banbridge last month have issued an appeal for helping in tracking down a specific witnesses. The detectives are continuing to investigate an incident in which a man, aged in his 40s who was shot in his abdomen by a masked man in a car park on the evening of Friday 12th April.

International Drugs Operation Nets Four
A man is due to appear before Newry Magistrates' Court charged in connection with the seizure of heroin worth over €3 million in Co. Louth last week. The man, who was arrested in Banbridge in Co. Down, is charged with the unlawful importation of Class A drugs and the supply of Class A drugs.
