67-Year-Old Arrested On Suspicion Of Murder

The PSNI's Major Investigation Team have launched a murder investigation following the death of a man aged in his 70s in Crossmaglen.

Shortly after 7pm on Saturday, 15 June, police received a report of the death of a man at a residential property in the Annaghmare Road area of the town.

On arrival, officers located the body of a man with serious head injuries in the bathroom of the house.

Detectives are working to establish the circumstances surrounding his death.

Detective Chief Inspector Anthony Kelly said: "A 67-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody.

"I am appealing to anyone who believes they may have information which could assist us with our investigation to contact us on 101 quoting reference 1435 15/06/24."

Appeal Issued After Teenager Sexually Assaulted On Belfast Bus
Police have issued an appeal after a teenage girl was assaulted on a bus in Belfast. The girl was travelling on a bus between Belfast and Dunmurry at around 7.40pm on Friday, 30 August. A PSNI spokesperson said they want to speak to a man described as having short hair, a beard and wearing a dark-coloured tracksuit and light-coloured shoes.

Security Alert In Glengormley Ends
A security alert in Glengormley has now ended. A suspicious object was discovered, however police said it has been declared a 'hoax'. Inspector Cullen said: "Police received a report on Thursday, 5th September shortly after 11.15pm that a suspicious device had been left in the area.

Residents Escape Injury After Arson Attack In North Belfast
A number of residents have escaped injury following an arson attack at a flat in north Belfast. Liquid was poured over a door and set on fire at a property in the Skegoneill Avenue area on Thursday evening, 05 September. The NIFRS attended the scene and extinguished the blaze.

Man Released On Bail Over Lurgan Murder
A man arrested in connection with a murder in Lurgan on Sunday, 06 August, has been released on bail pending further enquiries. The body of a man, aged 45, was discovered at a flat on Victoria Street. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Man Arrested In L'Derry
A 20-year-old man has been arrested in L'Derry. Officers from the PSNI's Terrorism Investigation unit carried out a search at a property in connection with an ongoing on Wednesday, 04 November. A number of items were seized for further examination. The man was taken to be questioned, however he has now been released.
