Two Arrested After Man Found Seriously Injured In Newtownabbey

Police have arrested a man and woman on suspicion of attempted murder after a male was seriously injured in Newtownabbey.

The man who is aged in his 20s, is in a serious condition in hospital after he was found seriously injured in a property in the Queens Avenue area of Newtownabbey on Tuesday evening, 11 June.

Detective Inspector Lenaghan said: "Medical treatment was given to the man for injuries caused to his upper body area, as well as his hands and ankles. He was subsequently transported to hospital from the scene where he remains at this time.

"A 40-year-old woman and 31-year-old man have since been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the investigation. They remain in custody as enquiries continue.

"Officers will be present in the Newtownabbey area today conducting further enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the nature of the man’s injuries. We would ask anyone with any information or dash-cam footage of the area or who noticed anything suspicious, to call them on 101 quoting reference number 1314 11/06/24."

Joe Reilly Murder: Man Arrested
A 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Joe Reilly. Mr Reilly, 43, was shot at his home in the Glenwood Court area of Poleglass, west Belfast, on 20 October. Police detained the suspect in the Newtownabbey area on Thursday, 08 December. He has been taken to Musgrave Police Station for questioning.

Police 'Seriously Concerned' For Missing Man David Duprey
Police are seriously concerned for the welfare of missing man David Duprey. Mr Duprey, 61, was last seen in Craigavon Area Hospital in Co Armagh at 9am on Wednesday. Police are urging the public to contact them if they have seen Mr Duprey as he needs "urgent medical treatment".

Teenager attacked and man shot in Newtownabbey area
A 14-year-old boy was badly injured on Sunday after being viciously attacked by three masked men armed with baseball bats embedded with nails. The teenage victim was walking past shops in the loyalist Monkstown Estate in Newtownabbey, County Antrim, when he was set upon and then savagely beaten by the gang.

Man Found Seriously Injured In Newtownabbey
Police have launched an investigation after a man was found with serious injuries at a car park in Newtownabbey. The 59-year-old man has been taken to hospital where his condition has been described as serious but stable. Police on mobile patrol found the man outside commercial premises in the Longwood Road area at around 10.

Police Appeal To Help Trace Missing Man Geoffrey Montgomery
Police are appealing for information to help trace missing man Geoffrey Montgomery, aged 62. It is believed he left his home in Serpentine Road in Newtownabbey sometime after midnight on Friday, 11 August. His wife and family are concerned for his safety and well-being.
