Alliance Welcomes Start Of Narrow Water Bridge Project

The Narrow Water Bridge project represents a major opportunity for growth in the regional economy and enhancement of the wider Carlingford Lough area by connecting communities.

This was the message of Alliance South Down MLA Andrew McMurray as he welcomed the start of construction on the project.

Mr McMurray said: "It is welcome news that after years of campaigning, we're finally seeing construction underway on the Narrow Water Bridge project. I'd like to express my gratitude to all those who relentlessly campaigned for this project and to the Irish Government for their steadfast commitment to the Narrow Water Bridge.

"This project will unlock tremendous potential by linking my constituency of South Down with County Louth, integrating the Carlingford Greenway, and delivering a substantial tourism boost alongside a crucial cross-border active travel route."
