Bangor Murder Victim Named As Patricia 'Patsy' Aust

A woman found dead in Bangor on the evening of Sunday, 02 June, has been named by the PSNI has 81-year-old Patricia 'Patsy' Aust.

An 85-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of Patricia, who was found dead in a house in the Hawthorne Court area.

Leading the investigation, Detective Chief Inspector Neil McGuinness from the Police Service's Major Investigation Team said: "Officers responded to a report of the death of a woman in a house, just off the Clandeboye Road, on the evening of Sunday 2 June.

"Sadly, the lady, whom we can now name as Patricia Aust, was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Patricia, also known as Patsy, was 81 years old. My thoughts, and that of my team, are first and foremost with her loved ones at this distressing time."

Detective Chief Inspector McGuinness continued: "A murder investigation is underway and a man, aged 85, arrested on suspicion of murder remains in custody at this time.

"I am appealing to anyone who may have information that could assist our investigation to contact detectives on 101. If you noticed, or heard, anything untoward please get in touch."

Woman killed in car accident is named
Police have released the name of a woman killed in a road traffic accident at the weekend. She was 20-year-old Patricia Bateson from Ballinderry Bridge Road in Coagh, Co Tyrone. Ms Bateson's car was found at the side of the Springhill Road in Magherafelt at about 7am on Saturday.

Attempted Murder Investigation Launches In Ballygowan
An attempted murder investigation has been launched after shotgun pellets were fired into a house in Ballygowan on Saturday evening, 22 June. Police received a report that at around 11pm, a number of shotgun pellets were fired through the window of a house in the Brae Grove area, striking a woman in the head and her back.
