PSNI Appeal For Witnesses To Waterside Assault
The PSNI in L'Derry have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following an assault in the Waterside area in the early hours of Sunday, 02 June.
At approximately 2.20am, it was reported a man had been assaulted and a knife had been used in the incident, which occurred in the vicinity of Roulston Avenue/Heron Way. Police responded and attended the scene where a man, aged in his 20s, was being treated for a wound to his arm by NIAS before being taken to hospital for treatment. Enquiries at the scene established a second man, aged in his 40s, had also sustained an injury.
A 52-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of offences, including possessing article with blade or point in a public place, and criminal damage. He has since been released on bail to allow for further police enquiries.
As the investigation continues, anyone with information, or who may have captured footage of what occurred, is urged to call 101, quoting reference 221 of 02/06/24. A report can also be made anonymously to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org

Man Arrested In Connection With Dromara Assault
A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a report of an assault at licenced premises at the Rathfriland Road area of Dromara. Detective Inspector Bell said: "Shortly before 10:10pm on Friday 15th December, it was reported that an altercation occurred at a bar in the area following three men refused entry to the premises.

Man Dies In Portadown Road Crash
An 18-year-old man has died following a collision in Portadown. The crash happened on the Dungannon Road between midnight and 12.30am on Wednesday, 08 November. The road has been re-opened. Elsewhere, a man, aged in his 30's, has died in a road collision in Co Antrim.

Man Released On Bail Over Lurgan Murder
A man arrested in connection with a murder in Lurgan on Sunday, 06 August, has been released on bail pending further enquiries. The body of a man, aged 45, was discovered at a flat on Victoria Street. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Arrest As 'Historic Murder' Back On Agenda
A death in west Belfast more than 35 years ago is again under the spotlight after detectives from the PSNI's Serious Crime Branch have arrested a 54-year-old man as part of a renewed investigation into the 1975 murder. Inquiries have been re-opened into the murder of Paul Crawford, 25, who was shot on the Falls Road on 12 April 1975.

PSNI Dog Catches Convicted Killer
A PSNI dog caught a convicted murderer who escaped from custody in Coleraine. The prisoner was receiving hospital treatment at Causeway Hospital on Sunday, 24 September, when he made off. He is currently serving a life sentence for murder. A PSNI spokesperson praised PD Rex. He said: "Officers, including air support and PD Rex commenced searching.
