85-Year-Old Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Murder In Bangor
An 85-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a woman, aged in her 80s, in Bangor.
Police received a report of the death of a woman at a house in the Hawthorne Court area of the city shortly after 5.30pm on Sunday, 2nd June.
On arrival, officers located the body of a woman in the living room area of the property.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and enquiries are at an early stage in order to determine exactly what has happened.
An 85-year-old man was arrested at the property on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody at this time as enquiries continue.
Detective Chief Inspector McGuinness said: "At present, we are not seeking anyone else at this time in connection with the investigation.
"I am appealing to anyone who believes they may have information which could assist us with our investigation to contact us on 101 quoting reference 1260 02/06/24."

A 61-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal road accident in County Down. A woman, believed to be in her 50s, was hit by a vehicle on the Comber Road in Newtownards at about 9.45pm last night. The victim’s name has not yet been released.

A man, aged in his 50s, is in a critical condition in hospital after he was assaulted at a house on the Ballycastle Road on Monday, 26 September. Two other men were also arrested and have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
