Appeal After Teenager Assaulted In Ormeau Park
A teenage boy required hospital treatment following a sectarian assault in the Ormeau Park area of south Belfast
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following the incident in the park at around 8.30pm on Wednesday, 29 May.
Police have said that the teenager was riding his bike in the park when he was approached by a group of boys, also on bikes. One of the males was reported to have directed sectarian abuse towards the boy, before punching him in the face, resulting in an eye injury.
The assailant was said to have wearing a jacket with the hood pulled up, and dark coloured trousers and trainers.
Inspector Carey said: "An investigation into the incident, which we are treating as a sectarian motivated hate crime, is underway, and we are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened, to get in touch.
"The number to call is 101, quoting reference number 1795 of 29/05/24."

Police Appeal After Boy Hit By Car In Co Down
Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses after a five-year-old boy was hit by a car in Co Down. The crash happened in the Malcolmson Park area in Magheralin just after 4.45pm on Thursday, 12 January. He is believed to be in a stable condition in hospital. Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.

Renewed Appeal For Help To Trace 21-Year-Old Lee Johnston
The PSNI have issued a renewed appeal for help in tracing the whereabouts of 21-year-old high-risk missing person Lee Johnston, from the Coleraine area. Lee was first reported missing to police on the evening of Friday, 13th October and police said that it is "out of character" for Lee to not to have been in contact with his family.

Man Arrested Over 1976 Murder Of Paul McNally
A man has been arrested in connection with a suspected 1976 sectarian murder in north Belfast. Paul McNally, 26, was shot as he left Sean Graham's bookmakers at the junction of Brompton Park and Crumlin Road on 5 June. He died two days later in hospital. Police believe it was a random sectarian attack.
