Appeal For Information After Man Seen With A Firearm

The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following reports of a man seen brandishing a suspected firearm in the Falls Road area on the morning of Saturday 18th May.

At approximately 8.15am, it was reported that a man had been seen with what was believed to have been a handgun in the vicinity of the Cullingtree Road.

Officers attended and approached the man and seized two imitation firearms from his possession.

Detective Sergeant Magee said: "The man, aged in his 50s, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of firearms offences. He remains in police custody at this time.

"I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the man in the area this morning or to anyone with CCTV, dash–cam or other footage that may assist with enquiries to contact police on 101 quoting reference 358 of 18/05/24."

Police Cancel Appeal For Missing Omagh Man
Police have said they believe missing Omagh man, Shane Sharkey, has been found in the Republic of Ireland. A police appeal for help in finding the 35-year-old has been cancelled, with police saying they now believe they know where he is. No further details have been released but police thanked the public for their help.

Appeal Issued For Missing Man Patrick Pearce Deery
Police are appealing for information to help trace missing man Patrick Pearce Deery. The 42-year-old was last seen on Saturday, 03 June. He is described as being 5 ft 8 in tall and of medium build. It is believed he may have travelled to the Sligo area. Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

Appeal Issued For Missing Man John Hutton
Police are appealing for information to help trace missing man John Hutton. Mr Hutton was last seen in the Donegal Street area of Belfast at around 8.45pm on Friday, 19 May. He was last seen swearing a black coat, blue jeans and a white t-shirt. He also speaks with a Scottish accent.
