Appeal For Witnesses To Newtownards Assault
PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following an assault in Newtownards.
Police received a report at approximately 10.25pm on Saturday evening, 11th May of an altercation in the Meadow Close area.
It was alleged a number of men, who were armed with weapons, entered the garden of a property and assaulted two men and a woman.
They all sustained head injuries as a result of the attack and required hospital treatment.
Detective Sergeant Westbury said: "Thankfully, the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. However, this was a terrifying ordeal for those involved.
"Our investigation is now underway to determine exactly what happened, a motive, and who was involved.
"I would appeal to anyone who may be able to assist with our investigation or has CCTV, dash-cam or mobile phone footage, to contact us on 101, quoting reference 1927 11/05/24.
"We are especially keen to hear from anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the Meadow Close area between 10pm and shortly before 10.20pm to make contact with police."
