35-Year-Old Man Extradited To Romania
A 35-year-old man has been extradited to Romania from Northern Ireland to face charges of aggravated murder and aggravated robbery.
The charges relate to crimes committed in the Sibiu area of Romanis on 06 November, 2023.
The PSNI arrested the man in the Belfast area on 18 November, 2023. His extradition proceedings have now been completed and he has been returned to Romania.
Sergeant Davey from the PSNI's International Policing Unit said: "The Police Service of Northern Ireland continues to work with our international partners to identify and arrest those wanted in other jurisdictions. In this case we worked closely with authorities in Romania, the National Crime Agency, UK Border Agency and An Garda Siochana to locate and arrest this subject. If fugitives travel to Northern Ireland to avoid the consequences of their crimes it is only a matter of time before they are arrested and brought before the Extradition Courts.
"Our message is clear that we will relentlessly pursue those that are trying to delay or deny justice to victims of crime."
