Six Arrests Made At Protest In L'Derry
The PSNI in L'Derry arrested six people for disorderly behaviour following a protest at a retail premises in the Strand Road area.
At approximately 2.20pm on Saturday 20th April, police received a report that a number of people had entered the shop to carry out a protest. Those involved began causing disruption in the premises and became aggressive and verbally abusive towards customers.
Officers attended and six people were arrested on suspicion of disorderly behaviour.
Two men aged 53 and 57 were released on bail to allow for further enquiries.
Four others, three men and a woman, were released pending report to the Public Prosecution Service.
Inspector Craig said: "I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or tow anyone who may have footage that could assist with enquiries, to contact police on 101 quoting reference 911 of 20/04/24."

Heart attacks kill six people in Northern Ireland every week, according to research by the British Heart Foundation (BHF). 314 people aged under 65 died from heart failure last year. In 2013/14, there were 5,400 heart attacks treated in Northern Ireland hospitals. This figure has risen from 4,600 the year before.

Latest PO Robbery Sparks Appeal
Yet another post office has been targeted by robbers. Yesterday, Killyman PO, near Dungannon was the latest to be hit. Although no one was hurt, a trend of such rural hold-ups is emerging after other such post offices - including a mobile - have been targeted over the last week.

Chief Constable Matt Baggott has defended the PSNI's handling of the union flag protests. He told Thursday night's The View: "There will be further arrests, there will be more charges and there will be hundreds of people brought before the courts," Mr Baggott said.
