Invest NI helps local firms 'take the highroad'

Invest Northern Ireland is helping a number of local firms exhibit at the annual Royal Highland Show as part of its continued commitment to the Agri-Engineering sector.

For the past two years Invest NI has organised a group stand at the event, which is the largest trade exhibition of agricultural machinery in the UK, attracting on average 150,000 visitors and 2,000 exhibitors annually.

Brian Dolaghan, Director of Engineering & Business Services, said: “The Royal Highland Show is an extremely important event for local companies who want to raise their profile within the agricultural sector. Many local firms have used the event to launch their products and services within Scotland and generate sales from both new and existing customers. The Show is also an excellent opportunity for our client companies to make useful business contacts.”

The Invest NI stand on Avenue D, stand no. 55, is accommodating client companies including Agri-Web, Fleming Agri Products Ltd, Wylie Engineering, Moore Concrete and Blaney Motor Company. Dungannon-based firm Wylie Engineering, has been awarded a silver medal from show organisers for its high performance new grass-cutting machine to be exhibited at the event.

“By helping these companies exhibit we are showcasing the high levels of innovation and expertise that exists within Northern Ireland’s agri-engineering sector,” Mr Dolaghan added.

The Royal Highland Show runs from June 24 to June 27 at the Royal Highland Centre, Ingliston, Edinburgh.

The event is organised by The Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland, which was formed in 1784 to promote the regeneration of rural Scotland.
