A yellow weather warning for wind has been issued by the Met Office for parts of Northern Ireland on Wednesday, 31 January.
The weather warning comes into effect at 9.00 am and is due to remain in place until 5.00 pm with warnings that it could impact travel, cause power outages and lead to large waves in coastal areas.
Areas affected by the warning include parts of County Antrim and County Derry with the majority of the area covered being around the North Coast.
On January 31, the Met Office have said that some bus and train services may be affected and some journeys may take longer. They have also advised that some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are to be expected and damage to trees is also possible.
A spokesperson said: "Strong and blustery southwesterly winds will quickly spread southwards across Scotland on Wednesday, reaching Northern Ireland and northern England by late morning or early afternoon. Gusts of 45 to 55 mph are expected widely with a few places - most likely hills and coastal areas - likely to see gusts up to 65 mph. During the late morning and early afternoon high gusts will be accompanied by rain, heavy at times before wind starts to slowly ease from the north later."
