Appeal For Witnesses Following Digger Theft In Antrim

The PSNI have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following the theft of a digger from a construction site in the Nutts Corner Road area of Antrim on Thursday, 25th January.

It was reported to police, that sometime from early evening on Wednesday, 24th January, to 8am on Thursday 25th, a digger weighing roughly 2.5 ton and of significant value had been stolen.

The digger had been left situated behind locked gates, however upon review, the padlock on the gate appeared to have been cut, before entry was gained to remove the machine.

Inspector Weatherald said: "Our investigation is ongoing and anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area during this timeframe, is asked to make contact with police.

"We are especially keen to hear from anyone who may have CCTV or dash-cam footage via 101 or online at www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/ , quoting reference number 257 of 25/01/24.

"I would also remind owners of agricultural equipment to be extra vigilant and ensure your equipment is secure at all times.

"If you see plant or machinery moving, particularly during the hours of darkness in circumstances you feel are suspicious, report it to us."

Cash Machine Stolen From Co Tyrone Filling Station
Police have reported the overnight theft of a cash machine from a petrol station in the village of Donaghmore, Co Tyrone. According to police it is thought that a digger may have been used in the robbery from the Emo station on Pomeroy Road. The digger and other equipment was found nearby shortly after the robbery was reported.

A worker has been injured after an accident at a landfill site in Fermanagh. The man is his 50s is seriously ill in hospital after the incident at the Drummee Waste Management Facility in Enniskillen yesterday afternoon.

PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following the theft of an ATM from a filling station on the Portadown Road, Richhill. Making the appeal, Detective Inspector Handley said: "A report was received shortly after 4.45am on Tuesday morning, 20th December of suspicious activity in the area.

Police issue appeal following knife attack
Police have appealed for information about a serious assault in Londonderry, which resulted in a man receiving 16 stitches to his throat. The 32-year-old man was walking along Westland Street when two men confronted him around 2.30 on Thursday June 13. One pushed him and the other grabbed him from behind and put a knife against his throat.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.
