Homes Evacuated In Co Tyrone And Co Down
Homes have been evacuated in two separate security alerts in County Tyrone and County Down today, 19 January.
In the first security alert, a suspicious object was found at at a house on the Gortgonis Road in Coalisland. A number of nearby houses have been evacuated and the public asked to avoid the area at this time.
In a separate incident, police are at the scene of a suspicious object in the Windmill Avenue area of Ballynahinch, County Down. Loughside Drive is closed between Windmill Avenue and Tudor Oaks. In the area a number of houses have been evacuated and police are asking members of the public to avoid the area.

A number of homes have been evacuated following the discovery of a suspicious object in west Belfast. The object was found in the Slieveban Avenue area of Andersontown at 11.30am on Wednesday 07 November. No main roads have been affected by the security alert. There are no further details at this time.

Holy Cross Device 'Intended To Kill'
Police believe a viable explosive device that was recovered following a security alert at the Holy Cross Church on the Crumlin Road in north Belfast was intended to kill officers. The device was thrown at a police patrol near the church and failed to detonate, before a call was made to parish priest at 00:50.
