PSNI Treating L'Derry Shooting As Attempted Murder

The PSNI have launched an attempted murder investigation following a report of shots being fired at a house in the Ardkill Road area of Ardmore in L'Derry on the night of Saturday 6th January.

Making an appeal for information, Detective Sergeant Chambers said: "Police received a report that three shots had been fired through a window of a house at around 9.15pm, narrowly missing an occupant who was inside at the time.

"Three other people were also inside at the time of the incident, but thankfully were not injured.

"An investigation has commenced and we are keen to speak to anyone who was in the Ardmore area at around the time of the incident. Anyone who has any information, or dashcam or doorbell footage which could help the investigation, should contact Police on 101 quoting reference 1536 06/01/24."

PSNI Name Ballymena Crash Victim
A woman who died following a road traffic collision in Ballymena on Tuesday 3rd September has been named as 44-year-old Eileen Thornton from the Broughshane area. PSNI cannot cope without part-time reserve, says report
A new report has claimed that the PSNI would not be able to cope if the part-time reserve was abolished. The 60-page report by Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC) said that unless the part-time reserve was bolstered the police would not be able to "provide the same levels of service it once did".

PSNI Names Woman Found Dead In East Belfast
A woman found dead at a house in east Belfast on Wednesday, 15 May, has been named by the PSNI as Kathryn 'Kat' Parton. A murder investigation has been launched into the death after Kathryn's body was discovered in a house in the Madrid Street area. The 34-year-old had suffered serious head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Suspected Drink Driver Caught After Collision In Larne
A suspected drink driver was among six people arrested following a crash in Larne. Police alerted the vehicle to stop, however it crashed with six people inside the car, including the driver. The occupants all made off on foot and they were caught a short time later.
