Alliance Calls For Political Support For East Belfast GAA

The Alliance Party has called on all of NI's political parties to show support for East Belfast GAA, following the latest incident in which oil was poured over the club's goal mouths.

Police are treating the criminal damage at Henry Jones Playing Fields as sectarian. It follows a series of incidents targeting the club.

Alliance Councillor Michael Long, said: "I stand by East Belfast GAA after this latest hate-filled incident and I call on all parties to do the same.

"This is sadly not the first time the club has been targeted. It is beyond tiresome that a club just wanting to play sport and contribute positively to the local community once again faces this bigotry and hatred.

"I call on anyone with information on this incident to contact police with it immediately."
