Men Jailed In Connection With Carrickfergus Cannabis Farm
Three men have pleaded guilty to a number of drug offences at Laganside Crown Court in connection with the large scale cannabis farm uncovered in the Carrickfergus area.
Edward Cambridge, 52 and Samuel Harrison, 64, pleaded guilty to cultivating cannabis, possession of a class B controlled drug and being concerned in the supply of a class B controlled drug.
They were sentenced to a total of 18 months in custody and 18 months on licence.
Connor Harrison, 23, pleaded guilty to offering to supply a class B controlled drug and being concern in an offer to supply a class B controlled drug. He was sentenced to six months in prison, which was suspended for 18 months.
Welcoming the sentencing, Detective Inspector Corrigan said: "Police searched premises in the Carrickfergus area and uncovered over 100 cannabis plants and a cultivation system.
"(The) sentencing offers reassurance that we, along with partner organisations, remain committed to disrupting the activities of those involved with criminal and drug-related activity.
"Information from the public is crucial in helping us tackle the scourge of drugs and effectively focus our efforts on identifying and removing those who supply drugs from our streets. Information can be given directly to police by calling 101 or online at www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/.

A 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a drug seizure made during a police search operation in Belfast. Officers from the Belfast Central Neighbourhood Policing Team and officers from the Paramilitary Crime Task seized a quantity of suspected Class A and Class C controlled drugs.

Cannabis Factory Discovered In Ballymena
A man has been arrested after a cannabis factory was discovered in a shed in Ballymena, Co Antrim. A member of the public made the discovery in the Frosses Road area at around 11.30pm. Over 100 plants were seized, according to the police.
