Golf club damaged in bomb attack

Police are appealing for information following a bomb attack at a golf club in Co Armagh.

Windows and drainpipes at Lurgan Golf Club were damaged in the attack which occurred shortly before 2.30am on Monday.

Army bomb disposal officers were immediately called to the scene and described the bomb as an "improvised explosive device".

No one was injured during this morning's incident.

Although no paramilitary organisation has admitted responsibility for the attack, it has been blamed on dissident republicans.

House Damaged In Petrol Bomb attack
A house in Larne has been damaged in a petrol bomb attack, according to police. It happened on Church Way at around 10.30pm on Wednesday. A man was in the house at the time but was unhurt. Minor damage was caused to the property and a window was smashed. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Petrol bomb attack damages Glenavon supporters club
Substantial damage has been caused to a supporters club premises at the home of Glenavon football club in Lurgan. Fire brigade personnel were called to Mournview Park shortly after 6am on Monday to extinguish the blaze which is believed to have started following a possible petrol bomb attack. A number of items were removed for further examination.

Property Damaged During Petrol Bomb Attack In Co Down
A property has been damaged during a petrol bomb attack in Banbridge, Co Down. The device was thrown at the bathroom window of the house in Golf Terrace at around 7.30pm on Saturday. Minor scorch damage was caused to the rear of the property and a man who was in the house at the time escaped injury.

International Blind Golf Championships Set For Belfast
A surprising sport is coming to Northern Ireland - blind golfing. Belfast's Belvoir Park Golf Club will host the World Blind Golf Championships from 10 - 12 August. With one of the 'driving forces' behind the Championships being Comber's Jan Dinsdale - one of the top lady blind golfers in the world - the initiative is all the more appropriate.

Man On Trial Over Ear-Biting Attack
A man has gone on trial accused of biting off another man's ear. John Totten, 27, of Milebush Close in Belfast, appeared at Belfast Crown Court charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent. The incident occurred outside of the bar at the Bentra Golf Club, Whitehead, in July 2006.
