Police appeal following hoax device in Comber
Police in Comber are appealing for information after army technical officers were called to examine a suspicious device found outside a house in Railway Street in the town.
The device was declared a hoax at around 4am on Thursday following a detailed examination.
Police are also investigating a suspicious fire after a car was set alight shortly beforehand in the same area.
A number of items have been removed for forensic examination in both incidents.
Meanwhile, police are linking the UVF to attempted bombings on Sinn Féin members in Co Antrim.
It follows the discovery on Monday of a pipe bomb underneath a van belonging to Sinn Fein member Michael Agnew in Ballymena.
Three weeks earlier another Sinn Fein member living in the town was targeted when bombs were discovered under his car and at the side of his house.
Unlike the UDA, the UVF ceasefire is currently recognised by the Government and it is believed to be the first time the group has targeted republicans since the signing of the Good Friday Agreement.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Police appeal after three separate attacks
Police in Belfast are investigating two separate shooting incidents and the discovery of an explosive device over the weekend. At around 9pm on Saturday evening, a shot was fired through the living room window of a house in Carmeen Drive in the Rathcoole area of Newtownabbey. The house was unoccupied at the time.

Viable Pipe Bomb Made Safe In L'Derry
An investigation has been launched following the discovery of a suspected pipe bomb in L'Derry last night. Police were alerted to reports of a suspicious device on Westland Street at around 8.45pm on Thursday. The road was closed and a number of houses were evacuated while a security operation was carried out.

Suspicious Device Discovered In Seaford 'Viable'
A suspicious object discovered in Seaford was a "viable device", according to police. The device was discovered at a house in Naghan Court at about 3pm on Monday, 11 June. Police launched a security operation and Army bomb disposal experts were called in to examine the device.
