SEAG Re-Open Transfer Test System For Late Registration

The Schools' Entrance Assessment Group (SEAG) has announced that the transfer test system has been re-opened for parents who missed the Pupil Registration deadline.

The Registration Portal has been reopened today, 29 September, and will remain open until 5pm on Monday, 02 October.

Announced the late registration period, SEAG said: "The area on the website which parents complete to make a Pupil Application will not open again after this deadline has passed. If you are requesting Access Arrangements, you must indicate this when you register your child and all Access Arrangements documentation must also be submitted by 5pm Monday 2nd October. You will be able to choose from Assessment Centres which have space at the time you make your Application.

"When uploading Photo ID it should be a head and shoulders picture showing only your child. If you have contacted SEAG check your spam and junk folders as well as your inbox. SEAG does not send confirmation emails. The Pupil Card shows the Assessment Centre at which you have registered you child. It can be downloaded by clicking on the pupil number beside your child's name in your dashboard."

Welcoming the announcement, DUP Education Spokesperson Diane Dodds, said: “I have been in contact with SEAG over recent days and I share their desire to ensure the transfer test procedure is robust and effective. It is clear that some parents were not able to complete the application process on time, but this short extension provides an opportunity to ensure that no-one misses out.

"The transfer test only exists because many thousands of parents enrol their children for the test. That parental choice is testament to the support for transfer to post-primary school using academic criteria.

"There obviously must be a cut-off point for applications because there is a detailed process for SEAG to complete once applications have been received. However, particularly in this first year of operation even a short additional period can provide the flexibility necessary to accommodate everyone. With the short extension granted it is now absolutely vital that anyone seeking to apply ensures they do so before 5pm on Monday. There should now be no-one who will be unaware of the need to meet this new deadline."
