Man Arrested In Connection With Newtownards Hit-And-Run

A 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run incident in Newtownards on Saturday, 16 September.

A man, aged in his 40s, is being treated in hospital after he was deliberately struck by a car in the Old Shore Road area of the town, at around 11:45pm. His injuries are said to be serious but not life threatening.

A short time later, responding officers arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder and a number of driving offences and remains in police custody at this time.

Detective Sergeant Westbury said that their enquiries are ongoing and that police are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have relevant dashcam, mobile phone or other footage.

He continued: "Detectives would appeal to anyone with any information in relation to the incident, or who may have seen a silver van in the area between 11.30pm and 11.45pm, to contact 101 quoting reference number 1863 of 16/09/23.

Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Attempted Murder
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder over an attack in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. A man, aged in his 50s, is in a critical condition in hospital after he was assaulted at a house on the Ballycastle Road on Monday, 26 September. Two other men were also arrested and have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

A man arrested in connection with a murder in Lurgan on Sunday, 06 August, has been released on bail pending further enquiries. The body of a man, aged 45, was discovered at a flat on Victoria Street. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of intimidation and criminal damage. A number of attacks on homes and cars have forced families to leave the Ballysillan area of north Belfast. A 26-year-old man was arrested and he is helping police with their enquiries.
