Ballyarnett Neighbourhood Policing Team Make Major Drug Seizure

Drugs with an estimated street value of £50,000 have been seized in the Carnhill area of L'Derry.

Ballyarnett Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) officers were on patrol in the area on Sunday afternoon, 3 September shortly after when they observed a car being driven in a suspicious manner. The car came to a stop in the Carnhill area and the two occupants got out of the car, walked away and did not return to it.

A subsequent search of the vehicle located a bag inside it containing a quantity of a white substance, suspected to be cocaine.

As part of enquiries, the vehicle from which the suspected drugs were located was also seized and taken away for examination.

The PSNI have issued an appeal for anyone with any information to contact them.

Driver killed as car collides with lamppost
A 22-year-old man has been killed in a road traffic accident in Belfast. The accident occurred on the King's Road in Knock area shortly before midnight on Monday October 28. The man, who has not yet been named, died when his car struck a lamppost. No other vehicles are believed to have been involved in the accident.

The last month has seen 10 suspected drug-related deaths in the greater Belfast area, sparking concern across the community. PSNI Detective Superintendent Bobby Singleton said while the cause of death is not definitively known, the use of illicit or prescription drugs may have been a factor.

Two Arrested Following Car Theft And Dangerous Driving In Belfast
Two men have been arrested in connection with a car theft and dangerous driving incident in south Belfast. The incident began on Tuesday evening when a brown Range Rover Evoque was stolen from a public car park in the Ratcliffe Street area.
