PSNI Investigate Aggravated Burglary In Newtownards

PSNI detectives are appealing for information following a report of an aggravated burglary in Newtownards yesterday evening, Tuesday 29 August.

At approximately 10.35pm a report was received that four masked men, one armed with a knife had gained access to a house in Millers Park Drive.

The men, who were all dressed in dark clothing, searched through a number of drawers before making off with a large sum of money in a dark coloured vehicle.

Luckily no one was injured during the incident.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone who may have CCTV, doorbell or other footage that could assist with enquiries is asked to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference 2036 of 29/08/23.

Alternatively, information can be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.

Attempted Carjacking In West Belfast
Police are investigating an attempted carjacking in west Belfast on Tuesday, November 19th. At around 5:30pm, a man entered a parked car at Hillhead Court and attempted to steal it. A woman passenger was assaulted when she resisted the man's demands. The suspect, described as a man in his 20s wearing all black, fled the scene on foot.

Major Drug Bust In Omagh Linked To INLA
Detectives from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force have made a significant drug seizure in Omagh. Officers searched a van in the Doogary Road area on Thursday morning, 21st November, and recovered a substantial quantity of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of £750,000.

Pedestrian Injured In Belfast Hit-and-Run
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a hit-and-run incident in the Botanic Avenue area of Belfast in the early hours of Thursday morning. Officers were called to the scene shortly before 1.30am after a male pedestrian was struck by a maroon Mazda. Despite being injured, the pedestrian left the area before police arrived.

Man Extradited From Ireland To Face Serious Charges
A 33-year-old man has been extradited from Northern Ireland to the Republic of Ireland to face serious charges. The man is accused of assault causing harm, coercive control, contravention of a safety order, theft, and possession of a weapon. The alleged offences occurred in the Monaghan area between 2020 and 2021.
