Cars Damaged In Arson Attacks In Newtownards
Police have issued an appeal for information after cars were damaged in overnight arson attacks in Newtownards, Co Down.
It is believed the attacks are linked to an ongoing feud in the area.
Chief Inspector McGrattan said: "Shortly before 11:15pm, it was reported that flammable liquid was poured over the front passenger side of a silver Peugeot 107 car parked in the Spelga Place area and was set alight. Colleagues from Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service extinguished the fire.
"Shortly before 11:20pm, police received a report that a red BMW Sport car parked in the Whinpark Road area was set alight and received extensive damage.
"A white Renault Megane that was also parked close to the vehicle received extensive scorch damage during the incident. Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service attended and extinguished the fire.
"Enquiries are continuing and at this stage, we are investigating a potential link between both of these incidents.
"We would appeal to anyone with any information in relation to both incidents or who may have dash-cam footage, to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 2155 22/08/23.
"Alternatively, information can be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime."

The PSNI have issued an appeal for information after a number of cars were damaged in the Ballymagroarty area of Londonderry overnight. It was reported that sometime during the early hours of the morning on Monday 13 August, the rear windows of nine cars parked in the Swift Court, Dunluce Court, Sheelin Park and Rafferty Close areas were smashed.

Thirty Cars Damaged By Youths In South Belfast
PSNI are hunting for two young males who allegedly damaged thirty cars parked in the West Belfast area. The youngsters are reported to have "scratched along the entire sides of these vehicles while walking past them", causing thousands of pounds worth of damage.

Police Link Holylands Arson Attacks
Police have linked the burning of six cars in the Holylands area of Belfast, describing the incidents as "suspicious". The vehicles were damaged during a spate of attacks in the university area of the city at the weekend. In the early hours of Saturday morning, two cars were extensively damaged in a fire on Cadogan Street.

Vehicles Vandalised In South Belfast
Jerusalem Street in the Holylands area of Belfast remains sealed off this morning after vandals set fire to a number of cars. Police and the Fire and Rescue Service were called shortly after 3.30am to the area, where they found two vehicles had been completely burnt out and another extensively damaged after being set on fire. Earlier, at around 10.

Cars And House Damaged In Co Armagh Arson Attack
Two cars and a house have been damaged in an arson attack in Co Armagh. The incident happened in the Sandringham area in Craigavon on Wednesday night. A car was set on fire which spread to another car and a house. Significant damage was caused to the two vehicles and the property.
