Former DUP Mayor Stripped Of MBE

A former DUP mayor has been stripped of his MBE following a conviction for a sexual offence.

Thomas Hogg was found guilty in 2021 of an offence against a teenage boy.

He had been made an MBE in the 2016 Queen’s Birthday Honours list.

He resigned from the party in 2019.

The Cabinet Office listed Hogg amongst the people who had forfeited honours on Tuesday.

He received a suspended sentence.

Former Headmaster Jailed For Child Sexual Abuse
The PSNI have welcomed the sentencing of an 89-year-old Belfast man for a significant number of non-recent sexual abuse offences. At Laganside Crown Court, Paul Dunleavy was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment, to start in May 2026 at the conclusion of his current sentence.

PSNI Chief Constable receives knighthood
PSNI Chief Constable Hugh Orde has received a knighthood in the Queen's Birthday Honours List. Commenting on his award, Mr Orde, who took up his post as Chief Constable in September 2002, has been a police officer for 28 years, said: “I see this as an honour not just for myself but for the whole of the Police Service.

Northern Ireland’s best celebrated in Queen’s 2002 honours list
One knighthood is among the Queen’s New Year 2002 Honours List for Northern Ireland. Already holding a CBE, Patrick Armstrong has received a Knighthood for services to the police. Joining the Police Authority in 1991, he became was appointed vice-chairman in 1994 and chairman in 1997.
