Secretary of State hosts reception for 9/11 delegation

Secretary of State Paul Murphy has hosted a reception at Hillsborough Castle for emergency and health personnel from New York who dealt with the aftermath of the 9/11 tragedy.

The delegation is visiting Northern Ireland this week at the invitation of the NI Centre for Trauma and Transformation in Omagh.

The visit provides trauma teams from both sides of the Atlantic the opportunity to work in partnership and share in detail their clinical experience.

Representatives from New York's frontline emergency response teams and Northern Ireland's regional trauma team in Omagh will focus on exchanging best practice to improve understanding of the needs of trauma victims.
