easyJet Welcomes 500,000th Passenger To Belfast City Airport
easyJet has celebrated a significant milestone as it welcomed its 500,000th passenger at Belfast City Airport, since its launch in July 2021.
To celebrate the momentous occasion, Rock Choir was invited to perform in the terminal while the 500,000th passenger, Abby Wood, who arrived on a flight from London Gatwick, was presented with a bouquet of flowers.
easyJet currently operates six UK routes from Belfast City Airport including Bristol, Glasgow, Liverpool, London Gatwick, London Luton and Manchester.
Ellie McGimpsey, Aviation Development Manager at Belfast City Airport, commented: "Reaching the milestone of half a million passengers at Belfast City Airport in under two years is an incredible achievement for easyJet, and we were delighted to join with our airline partner to celebrate this occasion and express our gratitude to all passengers for their continued support.
"easyJet's services have been consistently popular with passengers who wish to avail of convenient and affordable air travel options, and the feedback we have received since it began flying from Belfast City Airport has been fantastic.

bmi to concentrate services at Belfast City
bmi has announced that it is to discontinue its Heathrow service from Belfast International Airport (BIA) and concentrate resources in Belfast City Airport. However, bmi will maintain a presence at BAI as bmibaby will be including Belfast International as a destination to be served from a new UK base to be announced shortly.

Aer Lingus is to switch it operations from Belfast International Airport to George Best Belfast City Airport, it has been unveiled. It is believed flights could be moved in the coming weeks and a formal announcement will be made. It follows the end of BMI Baby Services from the City Airport, which carried 400,000 passengers every year.
