Belfast Boxer Apologises For Liking Critical Kate Tweet
Michael Conlan has apologised for liking a tweet critical of the Princess of Wales.
In a statement posted on social media professional boxer Conlan, said: "Yesterday when scrolling Twitter, I unknowingly liked a tweet that appeared on my feed by someone I don’t follow. I deleted the accidental like as soon as I was made aware of it and I apologise for any offence caused."
The tweet was made by former IRA prisoner Tim Brannigan who described Kate Middleton as being a "prim, anaemic and vacuous woman". The tweet was in response to Kate's appearance at Wimbledon.
Kate is the patron of All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club and presented the Wimbledon singles winners trophies to Carlos Alcaraz and Markéta Vondroušová.
The Prince and Princess of Wales watched Sunday's final along with two of their children, Princess Charlotte and Prince George.
