GAA Club Damaged By Vandals In Co Down

A GAA club in Co Down has been forced to invest in new security equipment after their pitch was damaged by vandals.

Saul GAC's pitch was damaged by a car performing hand brake turns over the weekend. The club condemned the perpetrators in a post on social media, claiming the actions showed disregard for the club and its members.

In response to the damage a statement posted on the club's Facebook page said: "The club has increased security around our grounds, with new CCTV installed and going forward the grounds will be locked."

The post included photos of the damaged pitch with clear tyre marks shown across a large area of the pitch.

Arson Attack On GAA Club In Co Tyrone
Police are appealing for information following an arson attack at a GAA club in Moy, Co Tyrone. The incident happened on the Benburb Road at around 11pm on sunday. Police received a report that a gym beside the main clubhouse was on fire. Extensive damage was caused to the building as a result of the fire.

A teenager is to appear in court today charged with the murder of a man in south Belfast. The 14-year-old youth is to appear in court in Belfast in relation to the murder of 30-year-old Ian Flanagan whose body was found at Queen's University playing fields on Sunday morning.

Golf club damaged in bomb attack
Police are appealing for information following a bomb attack at a golf club in Co Armagh. Windows and drainpipes at Lurgan Golf Club were damaged in the attack which occurred shortly before 2.30am on Monday. Army bomb disposal officers were immediately called to the scene and described the bomb as an "improvised explosive device".
