Ronan Keating's Brother Dies In Co Mayo Road Crash

The older brother of Boyzone singer Ronan Keating has died in a road collision in Co Mayo.

Tributes have been paid to Ciaran Keating, who was aged in his 50s, after he died in a two-vehicle crash on the N5 at Ballymiles at approximately 3.35pm Saturday, 15 July.

It is understood he was travelling with his wife to watch their son Ruairi play for Cork City FC.

His wife was taken to hospital however her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

In a statement the club said: "All at Cork City FC are deeply saddened at the passing of Ciaran Keating, father of our player Ruairi Keating.

"We extend our deepest sympathies to Ruairi and the entire Keating family at this exceptionally difficult time.

"We ask that the family’s privacy be respected at this difficult time. Funeral arrangements will be confirmed in due course. May he rest in peace."

Ronan Kerr Murder: Man Released
A 39-year-old man who was arrested in County Tyrone over the murder of Constable Ronan Kerr has been released. The man, from the Omagh area, was arrested under the Terrorism Act. He was released unconditionally on Tuesday evening. The arrest followed searches in County Tyrone and Cumbria in England. The man was taken to Antrim police station.

Former Blue Peter presenter, Caron Keating has died following a seven-year battle with cancer. The 41-year-old Northern Ireland born TV presenter died at the Kent home of her mother, Gloria Hunniford, on Tuesday night, her family have announced.
