Man Arrested In Connection With Large-Scale Cannabis Seizure

A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a large-scale drug seizure in east Belfast.

Detectives from the PSNI's Organised Crime Branch made the arrest and seizure during the search of a house in the Albertbridge Road area early on Wednesday, 05 July.

Following the operation, Detective Sergeant Thompson said: "A search operation was carried out at the property by detectives from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force, alongside Tactical Support Group officers from the Police Service's Operational Support Department.

"This operation was part of an ongoing investigation into suspected drugs criminality linked to the east Belfast UVF.

"During the search officers seized a large quantity of suspected herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of £204,000.

"A sum of money was also recovered and a number of other items including drug-related paraphernalia.

"The man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class B controlled drug, possession of a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply and possession of criminal property.

"He was also further arrested by officers on suspicion of possession of a Class B controlled drug following the recovery of a quantity of herbal cannabis in the Dundonald area in September 2022.

"The man remains in police custody at this time, assisting detectives with their enquiries.

"This search and arrest is a demonstration of our commitment to tackle all types of organised criminality linked to paramilitaries.

Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Attempted Murder
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder over an attack in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. A man, aged in his 50s, is in a critical condition in hospital after he was assaulted at a house on the Ballycastle Road on Monday, 26 September. Two other men were also arrested and have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Man Arrested Following Incident At House In Coleraine
A 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an incident at a house in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. It happened at a property on Knockantern Grove in the Mountsandel area on Tuesday, 16 August. The suspect has been arrested on suspicion of possessing of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an offence and assault on police.
