Three Arrested In Connection With Attempted Murder Of DCI Caldwell

Three men have been arrested under the terrorism act by police investigating the attempted murder of DCI John Caldwell in February.

The men, aged 45, 47 and 58 were arrested in Newtownabbey, Coalisland and Belfast on Tuesday morning, 04 July.

All three suspects have been remanded in custody.

A total of 31 arrests have been made during the investigation.

DCI Caldwell, aged 48, was shot a number of times in front of his son on 22 February.

Two Men Arrested In Belfast For Counterfeit Currency
Two men have been arrested in Belfast on suspicion of possessing counterfeit bank notes. The arrests were made at Belfast docks around 8:00 AM on Wednesday, October 2nd. According to Detective Sergeant Curley, the men, aged 26 and 39, were found with approximately £5,000 worth of counterfeit Bank of England notes.

Appeal After Arson Of DVLA Car In Bushmills
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following an the arson of a Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) vehicle in Bushmills on Tuesday, 6th August. Just before 11am, it was reported that two men, both wearing balaclavas, approached the vehicle as it was parked on Main Street.

Four Men Charged In Connection With Belfast Disorder
Four men have been charged with numerous offences connected to disorder in Belfast city centre and surrounding areas. Sporadic violence developed across the city centre and further disorder was reported in the Sandy Row area where a business premises was also set on fire.

Alliance Condemns Co Down Sword Attack
Alliance has condemned a sword attack that occurred at a house in the Ballaghbeg Park area of Newcastle, County Down, on Sunday morning. South Down MLA, Andrew McMurray, has called the behaviour of the individual responsible "completely unacceptable".

Appeal Following Burglary Spree In South Belfast
Police are investigating a series of burglaries that occurred in south Belfast overnight. Four separate incidents were reported in the early hours of Thursday, October 3rd. The first incident took place around 12:50 AM in Ravenhill Park. An unknown intruder gained entry to a property, but nothing was reported stolen.
