Man Dies After Cliff Fall In Portrush

A man has died after falling from a cliff in Portrush.

Emergency services were alerted to the incident on the Ramore Head area just after 7pm on Monday night, 03 July.

The man'’s death is not being treated as suspicious, according to the PSNI.

In a statement posted on social media Coleraine Coastguard said: "Coleraine and Ballycastle Coastguard Rope Rescue Teams were tasked this evening to reports of a person fallen from the cliffs at Ramore Head, Portrush.

"A casualty was recovered but sadly declared deceased at the scene."

Public Urged To Stay Away From North Coast Cliff Edges
The public is being urged to stay away from dangerous cliff edges when visiting beaches on the north coast. The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) said the recent winter storms have dramatically changed the profile of beaches at Whiterocks, Portrush East and Portstewart creating high sand cliffs which are unstable.

Man In Hospital After Cliff Fall In Co Antrim
A man is being treated in hospital after falling 70ft from a cliff in Co Antrim. Emergency services were alerted to the scene on Thursday, 02 August, at around 6.30pm. The man had fallen from Elephant Rock near Ballintoy Harbour. He was found conscious and breathing and is being treated at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.
