Man Arrested After Police Launch Investigation Over Taxi Gun Video

Police investigating a video showing video footage of a taxi driver with a suspected gun have arrested a 48-year-old man.

The suspect was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of a number of offences which include possession of a firearm or imitation firearm.

The video showed the driver with what appeared to be a firearm and hitting the passenger in the face with it.

The man remains in custody.

Enquiries are ongoing and police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Stephen Carson Murder: Man Charged Over Firearm
A man has been charged with possession of a firearm in suspicious circumstances by police investigating the murder of Stephen Carson. Mr Carson, 28, was shot at his home in south Belfast at around 10.45pm on Thursday. The 39-year-old is to appear at Belfast Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, 02 March.

Man Arrested And Firearm Recovered In West Belfast
A 33-year-old man has been arrested and a suspected firearm recovered during a police operation in west Belfast on the evening og Sunday, 07 July. Inspector McCullough said: "Officers carried out planned searches at two properties in the Kashmir Road area of the city – where a suspected firearm and other items were seized from one of the addresses.
