PCTF Officers Search Property In North Belfast

A search operation has been carried out in North Belfast by the PSNI's Paramilitary Crime Task Force (PCTF) as part of an ongoing investigation into suspected criminality linked to the west Belfast UDA.

A number of items were seized for forensic examination from the property.

Stating that the PSNI would continue to work to disrupt the activities of those who make their living from crime, Detective Sergeant Gourley said: "Our enquiries are ongoing and we would like to thank the local community for their continued support and will continue to act on the information you provide us.

"I would encourage anyone with information regarding criminal activity to contact us on 101."

Two Pensioners Charged In Edward Gibson Murder Probe
Two pensioners have been charged over the murder of Edward Gibson in west Belfast last October. Mr Gibson, 28, died after being shot in the Clonfadden Crescent area on 24 October. The man, 68, and woman, 70, have been charged with assisting an offender and failing to provide information. They are due to appear in court on 04 November.

Priest condemns tar attack on teens as 'child abuse'
A north Belfast priest has labelled a paramilitary group, who chained two teenagers to a lamppost and covered them in tar, as "child abusers". Father Aidan Troy called an ambulance for the boys, aged 14 and 15, after they were taken from their north Belfast homes during last night's attack.

Man Arrested In Paramilitary Crime Task Force Operation
A 28-year-old man has been arrested as part of a search and arrest operation in Ards and North Down on Thursday, 16 August. Officers from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force today supported the Security Industry Authority (SIA) and conducted the operation last night as part of an ongoing investigation into criminality linked to the East Belfast UVF.
