Appeal For Information On 'Vicious And Nasty' Assault In L'Derry

The PSNI in L'Derry have issued an appeal for information and witnesses after a woman was assaulted when she attempted to break up a fight.

Police have reported that at around 6.15pm on Wednesday 03 May the woman had tried to break up a fight between two men on Foyle Street in the city when she was kicked by one of the men. She was then further assaulted by another woman at the scene who dragged her to the ground by her hair. The victim's purse is also reported to have been taken from the scene.

A 25-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of common assault, assault on police, criminal damage and disorderly behaviour and she remains in police custody at this time.

Sergeant Kyle Irvine said: "This was a vicious and nasty assault on the victim who was treated by the NIAS at the scene. If you were in the area yesterday evening and witnessed this attack and can help our enquiries, call us on 101, quoting reference number 1791 of 03/05/23."

Appeal Issued To Woman Who Helped Assault Victim

Police revisit scene of Ballymena sexual assault
Police in County Antrim have revisited the scene of a serious sexual assault on a man, which happened last week in Ballymena. The 20-year-old victim was out jogging on the Broughshane Road, close to Ballymena rugby club on February 9, when he was dragged into the back of a white van and assaulted by two men.
