Man Dies In Hospital Following Suspected Assault In Rasharkin

The PSNI's Major Investigation Team have launched an investigation into the death of a man following a suspected assault in the Rasharkin area.

At around 10pm on Sunday 16 April, police received a report that a man had been found unconscious on the ground, at the back of licensed premises in the Main Street area of the village.

The man, aged in his 50s, died in hospital on Monday 24 April.

Detective Inspector McGarvey said: "Our investigation continues, and I am appealing to anyone with information, or who witnessed anything untoward, to please get in touch. Likewise, if you have captured dash cam footage, please contact officers on 101 quoting reference number 1944 of 16/04/2023."

A 20-year-old man has been arrested in L'Derry. Officers from the PSNI's Terrorism Investigation unit carried out a search at a property in connection with an ongoing on Wednesday, 04 November. A number of items were seized for further examination. The man was taken to be questioned, however he has now been released.

Man arrested over Electoral Office fraud
A 58-year-old man from Co Tyrone has been arrested and charged following a police investigation into irregularities at an Electoral Office in the west of the province. The man was charged with 30 offences, 17 of which relate to theft and 13 of fake accounting. He will appear before a court in Omagh on November 11.

Investigation Launched After Reports Of Shots Fired In L'Derry
Police have launched an investigation following reports a number of shots were fired in L'Derry. The incident is believed to have happened in the Old School Lane area on Wednesday, 31 May. Police were contacted by members of the public, however there were no reports of any injuries or damage to properties.

Investigation Launched Following Arson Attack On Baptist Church
Police have launched an investigation following an arson attack on a Baptist Church in Co Down. Tyres were put up against the side of the building on the Loughbrickland Road in Rathfriland and set alight between 11pm and 11.30pm on Wednesday, 18 May. Damaged was caused to the side of the church and windows.
