Mother and daughter escape injury in gun attack

A woman and her seven-year-old daughter have escaped injury following a gun attack at their home in Derry City.

Around four shots were fired into the house in the Bond Street area shortly before 11pm on Sunday, however neither mother or daughter were injured in the attack.

Police are still investigating a motive and have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.

Elsewhere, two men have been injured in a paramilitary-style attack on the outskirts of north Belfast. The men were attacked and beaten at Knockenagh Avenue in Rathfern shortly before 7.30pm on Sunday.

Both men were treated in hospital for puncture wounds to their arms and legs.

Meanwhile, a 34-year-old man has been shot during a paramilitary style assault in Larne on Friday.

The man was walking along Walnut road at around 11.30pm when he was approached by four masked males who bundled him into a passing car.

The victim was then taken to Churchill Road where he was shot in the left leg. The man's attackers are believed to have then fled in a black coloured car.

Two men have been arrested in connection with a shooting attack in L'Derry. A man was shot in the leg at a premises in Central Drive on 27 March. A 26-year-old and a 49-year-old man were arrested on Wednesday, 19 April. They have been detained and are being questioned by the police.

Man Shot In County Down
A 28-year-old man has been shot in the leg in a gun attack in County Down. The man was getting out of his car at the Quays in Killyleagh at about 1.00am on Wednesday morning when a man approached him and shot him. The man is recovering in hospital where his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Four Men Arrested Over Explosive Device In West Belfast Released
Four men arrested in connection with an explosive device in west Belfast last year have been released from custody. The device was found in the Pantridge Road area on 30 October. Three men arrested under the Terrorism Act have been released unconditionally.

Man recovering in hospital following paramilitary-style attack
A 23-year-old man is recovering in hospital after being shot in the leg in a paramilitary-style attack in Co Down. The incident happened at around 1.30pm on Saturday on the Abbotts Road in Newtownards. Police said the victim had tried to run away when he saw four men pull up alongside him in a red Ford Escort car.

Co Fermanagh man suffers broken nose in robbery
A Co Fermanagh man has suffered a broken nose after being assaulted by two men at his home in Enniskillen. The 65-year-old man was confronted by two men who forced their way into his home on Sunday. They then assaulted him before robbing his home. It is understood that a sum of money was taken during the robbery.
